It was a great conversation piece at buffet dinners. Some guests considered me naïve so I played along.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I simply said I assumed square chickens produced square eggs.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-size:85%;" &gt;Unfortunately, this statement did not always go over.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;Many of my friends and neighbours were traditionalists, did not see this as fun 'toy' and rejected this as silly.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-size:85%;" &gt;In response to this, I promptly decided to create a paper maché "square" chicken. At the next social event, I placed it on the buffet table, surrounding it with my square eggs.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;It was there for everyone to see, and enjoy.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-size:85%;" &gt;The comments were quite revealing and a LOT of fun. They ranged from people laughing at themselves, getting a new outlook on life or disgust that I &lt;i style=""&gt;wasn’t acting my age&lt;/i&gt;. &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;I still giggle as I think about it. They say that laughter is the best medicine. Well, this square chicken certainly has kept me healthy!&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-size:85%;" &gt;The point I am making with this story is that we get so wrapped up in the accepted norms and routines of society that we forget to question our routines and play. There is nothing wrong with assuming square chickens.&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-size:85%;" &gt;Some of society's rules are safety rules but others are simply to keep another from being inconvenienced. I recommend each reader taking the time each day to find something that can be changed, share a giggle or plan one for the future. I am reasonably health  conscious and stopped drinking milk a few years ago.  This brought back memories and concerns.  It may be an old debate but I believe it is time to revisit it.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Raw milk debate .&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#000000;"&gt;  &lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;  Before WWII, we could all buy fresh, raw,  whole milk, real buttermilk, luscious, naturally yellow butter, fresh farm  cheeses  in various colours and thicknesses. Today's processed milk is accused  of causing everything from allergies to heart disease, but back when we could  buy these items, these diseases were rare.  In fact, a supply of high quality  dairy products were considered vital to our health security and the economic  well being of  us all. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#000000;"&gt;Here are a few excepts from a New York Times  article in August, 2007:--&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;---While its sale for human consumption is illegal in 15  states, New York is one of 26 where it can be bought with restrictions. The  chief one is that raw milk can only be sold on the premises of one of 19 dairy  farms approved by the state.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;---Some drink it for the same reason raw milk cheeses are  popular: the taste. “I first discovered it two summers ago in France,” said Mr.  Milgrom-Elcott, who is pursuing a doctorate in medieval Jewish mysticism at  &lt;a title="More articles about New York University." href="http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/organizations/n/new_york_university/index.html?inline=nyt-org"&gt;New York University&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;. “There is a richness and  density unlike processed milk, plus there’s this complexity of  flavour.”&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;---Advocates attribute stronger immune and better digestive  systems to raw milk. However, when I read this, I realized that this is something I had never thought about?  I will not drink pop and warn people of the &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Content&lt;/span&gt; but had not thought about the repercussions of drinking out of the can.  I guess my view is -- everyone has free will to consume the liquid but if they chose to, they should be careful of the container itself!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="ecmsonormal" style="margin-bottom: 12pt;"&gt;&lt;strong style="font-weight: normal;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Tahoma;"&gt;This incident happened  recently in &lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;Northern British  Columbia&lt;/ST1:PLACE&gt; .&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Tahoma;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Tahoma;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Tahoma;"&gt;A woman went boating one Sunday  taking with her some cans of coke which she put into the refrigerator of the  boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital and placed in the Intensive Care  Unit. She died on Wednesday.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Tahoma;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Tahoma;"&gt;The autopsy concluded she died of  Leptospirosis. This was traced to the can of coke she drank from, not using a  glass. Tests showed that the can was infected by dried rat urine and hence the  disease Leptospirosis.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Tahoma;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Tahoma;"&gt;Rat urine contains toxic and  deathly substances. It is highly recommended to thoroughly wash the upper part  of soda cans before drinking out of them. The cans are typically stocked in  warehouses and transported straight to the shops without being  cleaned.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Tahoma;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Tahoma;"&gt;A study at UBC showed that the tops of soda cans are  more contaminated than public toilets (i.e).. full of germs and bacteria.
